Written primarily for the substitute teacher, this guide will assist you in making good decisions on what districts,
grade levels, and classes are best for you. It contains many suggestions, ideas, and tips that will help you to
establish and maintain a good classroom learning atmosphere.
I used my own 25 years of teaching experiences plus suggestions from teachers, administrators, and students
to write this 38 page guide. The helpful tips, ideas, and suggestions explain how to handle many typical classroom problems.
I describe
many tricks that students use to take advantage of the sub, and offer methods of preventing them from happening, or how best
to deal with them should they occur. I also describe some of the common character traits that students have, and offer
positive ways to interact with them.
Included with the guide are many lessons and activities you can use when there is extra time.
The
guide, now in its 8th year of printing with updated revisions, is being used by teachers throughout the US and Canada.
